Access & Easements
This location has access to White Sands Boulevard, approximately 500 feet to the west, by 27th Street. It has access to N. Florida Ave., approximately 600 feet to the east, by a roadway owned by the City of Alamogordo. This property has a third access, a private easement over City of Alamogordo property, extending 600 feet north to Fairgrounds Road.
A drainage flow-path runs north-to-south through the middle of the property, leading to a retention basin recently constructed by the City of Alamogordo immediately south of this property. This flow path and adjoining retention basin will prove to be a valuable asset when the drainage plan is engineered for the development of this property. An easement exists along the southerly boundary of this property to allow 27th St. to be extended east to Florida Avenue.
All of this property was in Zone AH, prior to the installation of the native soil removed from the construction of the adjoining City retention basin. The east half of this twenty acre property received approximately 40,000 cubic yards, providing 30 inches of clean fill, over that ten acres.
